Who Are the Heroes?

This is the world we live in. The politicians are the cowards. They are embarrassing. Grilling university presidents, asking whether or not they are allowing their students to perpetuate anti-Semitism on their campuses — they are ridiculous. Not expressing similar concern for the pro-Palestinian students, shows their lack of concern for equal representation. They grandstand, like bullies establishing a pecking order on the playground, attempting to score points with their constituents and funders. They are narrow-minded, and are not interested in understanding “context,” a sign of low intelligence and self-serving manipulation, if ever there was a sign.

Students Taking Stands

The pro-Palestine student protesters, on the other hand, speak rationally. They are taking great risks because they believe that what Israel is doing to civilians — especially children — is unconscionable and immoral. They acknowledge that the Hamas attack and subsequent kidnapping in October was horrible and inhumane, but that the continuing, over-sized Israeli government response is unjustified. The fact that our government has armed and continues to supply weapons to Israel creates outrage in idealistic students…
