One of the defining moments of my life as a child (pre-teen). was at a Southern Baptist vacation Bible school in Guam in the 60s. A young white man was a teacher and he and I got into a discussion (argument) about race. He claimed the Bible did not say that whites were equal to black, that it was ONLY referring to Jews and Gentiles. I could hardly believe him so he said for me to ask the pastor. So he called pastor in and confirmed it. I donʻt know if I left at that point, but I remember being angry. But as a non-white (Asian), I knew there was something wrong.
