The algorithm brought the ad for this movie in my Instagram feed. It knows I love indie films, and in particular from Asia. So I followed the clicks and found that it is playing at a theatre, not that near me. I remember when the Dole Pineapple Cannery was to be renovated to become a shopping center over twenty years ago. It is a sad place to be go to. The bus ride passes by several homeless encampments. I was the only one in the theatre. It is a shame, as it is very well kept. It was clean and comfortable. Not run down at all. But I make myself go out of the comfort zone of my neighborhood, because I want to support the movie theater business.

Directed by Pat Boonnitipat, it is his first feature film. It is set in Thailand, though the characters are Chinese who have settled in Thailand. The original title was A Sino Thai Family.
